6. Mobile Information, Text Messaging, and Communications Services
This section distinguishes between:

  • Messages sent directly by North Country for North Country’s own business purposes.
  • Communications transmitted through communications services that North Country provides or supports for its business customers.

6.1 Messages Sent Directly by North Country
North Country may send SMS, MMS, telephone, or other electronic communications concerning:

  • Installation or appointment information.
  • Service and support matters.
  • Account and transaction notifications.
  • Security or operational notices.
  • Responses to communications you initiate.
  • Marketing or promotional communications where you have provided the consent required by applicable law.

Where consent is required, your consent applies only to communications from North Country for the purposes disclosed when consent was requested.

Consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of purchasing any property, goods, or services.

Message frequency varies based on your relationship with North Country and the applicable messaging program. Message and data rates may apply.

6.2 Opt-Out and Assistance for North Country Messages
You may revoke your consent and stop North Country text messages at any time by replying STOP or by using another reasonable method communicated to you.

North Country may send one nonmarketing message confirming that your opt-out request was processed.

Where supported, you may reply HELP for assistance. You may also contact North Country using the information in the Contact Us section below.

North Country will honor valid opt-out and consent-revocation requests as required by applicable law.

An opt-out from marketing communications does not prevent North Country from sending individual communications that:

  • You specifically request.
  • Respond to a communication you initiate.
  • Are necessary to complete a requested transaction or provide requested support.
  • Are otherwise legally permitted without marketing consent.

6.3 Required Mobile Information Disclosure
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes.

All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

6.4 Communications Services Used by North Country Customers
North Country may provide or support communications services that allow its business customers and their authorized users to send or receive telephone calls, text messages, multimedia messages, emails, or other communications.

When a North Country customer uses those services to communicate with another person:

  • The customer determines the purpose, recipients, timing, and content of the communication.
  • The customer is responsible for obtaining any consent required to send the communication.
  • The customer is responsible for honoring applicable opt-out and do-not-contact requests.
  • The customer is responsible for complying with applicable telecommunications, privacy, marketing, consumer-protection, recording, and communications laws.
  • The customer is responsible for its users’ access to and use of the communications services.
  • The customer’s own privacy notices and communications policies govern its relationship with the individuals it contacts.

North Country does not determine the content or recipients of customer-originated communications and does not obtain consent on a customer’s behalf unless North Country expressly agrees in writing to provide that service.

North Country and its communications infrastructure providers may process customer communications and associated information only as necessary to:

  • Transmit, route, deliver, and receive communications.
  • Provide telephone numbers, voicemail, call routing, messaging, and related functionality.

  • Detect and prevent spam, fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or unlawful activity.
  • Maintain legally required service and transaction records.
  • Respond to lawful government, regulatory, judicial, or emergency requests.
  • Comply with applicable telecommunications and network obligations.

Individuals receiving a communication from a North Country customer should direct consent, content, opt-out, or privacy requests to the customer that initiated the communication. North Country may assist the customer or process a request where required by law or reasonably necessary to operate the communications service.

6.5 Communications Data

Certain telecommunications information may be subject to additional protections under applicable communications and customer proprietary network information requirements.

6.6 Delivery and Service Limitations
Delivery of calls, text messages, emails, and other communications depends on third-party networks, carriers, recipient systems, internet connectivity, device configuration, and other factors outside North Country’s control. Delivery is not guaranteed.

Customers and users are responsible for providing accurate contact information and promptly updating telephone numbers, email addresses, user assignments, emergency-service locations, and other service information when changes occur.
